FREE Girls & Boys Lacrosse Clinic on Sunday September 19

The Mount Si Lacrosse Club will hold its second annual fall lacrosse clinic for girls and boys who are interested in learning to play lacrosse. Players of all levels are welcome from age 2^nd grade through high school. Mount Si Lacrosse Club will have lacrosse sticks on hand for those who do not have their own gear.

Veteran girls lacrosse coach Tim Sheie from Anoka, Minnesota will be heading up the girls clinic. The boys clinic will be coached by Mount Si Lacrosse head coach Woodroe Kiser, and club coaches Dennis Simmons, Paul Riley and Jason Townsley.

This informal free event will be held on Sunday, September 19^th from 1 to 3 pm at Si View Park in North Bend.

New North Bend Airport Shuttle

New info on an affordable airport shuttle from North Bend!

The Airport Shuttle leaves from Factory Stores at North Bend 5 times per day and the cost is $19 one way for adults and $14 one way for youths.

The pick up and drop off point is just outside of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. For reservations and information please call 1-866-235-5247.

Shuttle leaves the outlet mall for Sea-Tac 5 times a day:

7:45 a.m. (arriving at Sea Tac 8:25 a.m.)
10:45 a.m.(ar. ST 11:25)
1:45 p.m (ar ST 2:25 p.m.)
4:45 p.m. (ar. ST 5:25 pm)
7:45 p.m. (ar. ST 8:25 pm)

The returns from SeaTac are at the far end of the airport, South end, and are at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m., and 11 p.m. The fare this month is $19 plus a gas surcharge of $1.50 each way.

It is recommended that you register your car with the office at the outlet mall if you plan on leaving it there for several days.

Will L Taco in North Bend pass the test?

L Taco opened its doors at 202 North Bend Way on Friday, April 2, 2010.

Featuring simple, highly tasty and affordable tacos, burritos and quesadillas, co-owner Jason Lakman says “I’m passionate about tacos and wanted to create something that would be fresh and delicious, while also being friendly to the pocketbook. I’m having a lot of fun with this new venture and have enjoyed getting to know the people who have started coming in.”

Small tacos are $3 each and large tacos are $5.

L Taco is owned by brothers Geoff and Jason Lakman. Jason Lakman, a North Bend resident, previously owned and operated Island Taco on Maui, Hawaii. A Washington State native, he wanted to bring his popular tacos to the Northwest when he recently returned to the area.

Ace Hardware in North Bend – Way to go!

Stopped in to Ace Hardware in North Bend to see if they had an air horn, but they thought they didn’t have them, so we left thinking we had to make yet another trip into Issaquah.

But the next morning I had an email from Chris at Ace…

Greg Pfiffner: Will Work For Tacos

Alpine Chiropractic in North Bend is moving later this spring into a new building on the adjacent lot near QFC in downtown North Bend.

As for the tacos…In all seriousness, Dr. Pfiffner works his tail off over there at Alpine Chiropractic in North Bend. He has a great reputation for helping people no matter what their circumstances.

Mabel’s on the Ridge Off To a Poor Start?

The first impression I had of Mabel’s when I drove by was, oh noooo, white tablecloths…not good for kids and it’s gonna be expensive. Since that day last week, I have only heard bad stories about the place…

1) A family I know went to Mabel’s last Sunday morning just before 8 am, looked at the hours on the door, which said they opened at 8 am, and then walked around the block to kill a few minutes. At 8 am, the owner opened the door and said “you know we don’t open until 9? See you in an hour.” And shut the door in their face.

2) Another family I know went for dinner last week on a weeknight and waited so long for their food that they missed all of their evening activities. When the food came 40 minutes after they ordered, it was cold.

So those 2 stories are enough to keep us away, but please comment if you have had a different experience.

Christmas Dance at the Mt Si Senior Center

Save December 5th & Join Dance All Night in supporting the Mt. Si Senior Center in North Bend.

Lupe from Dance All Night will be doing an intro Swing Lesson at 7 pm
Live music will be provided by Harley Brumbaugh from 8-10 pm

Location: Mt. Si Senior Center
Cost: $10 per person
Senior Center Members: $5

Help support the Senior Center by joining the Center
that night for only $15 or renewing your membership for 2008 and
still get the Member price for the dance.

Special Senior Transportation will be available and can be
arranged through the Senior Center. Some light refreshments will be available. Those of you who would like to share some of your special treats are welcome to bring them.

The Dance is open to all ages, so please come and support the
Senior Center and bring your friends.
